William Fairclough, Sr., 72, of Jefferson Township, died Tuesday afternoon in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. His wife, the former Virginia Ross, preceded him in death in 2013.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Harry J. Sr. and Ettie William Fairclough, he attended public school in West Scranton and was a member of the former Maplewood United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, he worked for many years as a carpenter for Con-Rail.
Surviving are sons Thomas Fairclough and wife Sharon, and William Fairclough, Jr. and wife Karen, all of Moscow; a daughter, MaryAnn Fairclough of Jefferson Township; grandchildren Ian and Lila Fairclough; his brother, Harry Fairclough, Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of Dunmore; as well as nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10am by Rev. John Craig in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Township.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
