Ward I. Goodman, of Scranton, died Monday morning at V.N.A. Hospice at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton.  His wife is the former Ellen L. Haas.


Born in Scranton, son of the late Aaron and Olive Wardell Goodman, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Syracuse University.  He had also served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy.  Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed businessman.  He was a member of Temple Israel in Scranton.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Berger and husband Jamie of Plymouth Meeting, PA; and sons Michael Goodman of Dalton, and Andrew Goodman of Moosic; as well as five grandchildren; his sister Jean Haas of Scranton; nieces and nephews.


Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. in Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore, by Rabbi Moshe Saks and Cantor Vladimir Aronzon. 


Friends will be received during shiva at the family residence, 912 Taylor Avenue, this evening , Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m.

Dear Mrs. Goodman, Bonnie & Jamie, Andy and Michael,
I with to express my deepest sympathy to each of your family upon the death of Mr. Goodman. He will always be remembered by me as part of the Scranton set, part of the hometown where I grew up...filled with happy times and terrific friendships with each of you. It is significant because those memories are eternal.. During your mourning, please know you are all in my thoughts.
