Sheila Marie Canevari Carr of Dunmore, passed away Thursday, October 25, after complications from multiple myeloma at Regional Hospital in Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Thomas (Hank) Carr, Jr. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February.
She was born in Peckville, daughter of the late Russell and Ila Davis Canevari and was a 1966 graduate of the former Jessup High School and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
Sheila loved her grandchildren very deeply. Everything she did was for them. She was a wonderful cook and would spend hours in the kitchen making all of her Italian dishes. She had a fun spirit and loved playing practical jokes on them. She could talk anyone’s ear off, telling her stories about the good ole days.
Also surviving are two children, Thomas Carr, III and wife Maurya of Throop, and Aimee Zeller and husband Larry, Jr. of Dunmore; four grandchildren, Hannah and Kaeden Carr, and Isabella and Lawrence Zeller; her siblings, Donna Guziewicz and husband Joe, Russell Canevari and wife Grace, Deborah Evans and husband Richard, Kim Canevari and wife Lisa, Joseph Canevari and wife Linda, Maria Chopko and husband Jerry, and Cara Dubas and husband John; A sister-in-law; Audrey Ruane and husband Joe, Dunmore. A brother-in-law; Warren Carr, Peckville; as well as many nieces,nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Ryan Matthew Carr.
The family would like to thank Dr. Padmaja Bojanapally, Liz, and the entire staff of Hematology and Oncology Associates for everything that you have done for her.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
