Dunmore, PA June 30, 1937 ~ April 1, 2014 Date of Service: April 5, 2014Mary Ann Maro, 76, Dunmore, died Tuesday afternoon at home surrounded by her loving family. She and her husband, Nicholas Angelo Maro celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day February 14th.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late John Rusinko and the late Ann Jadowski Devlin. Mary Ann was a longtime member of the former Holy Family Parish and was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1956. A talented seamstress, she enjoyed creating many outfits and uniforms from her imagination for her family, friends, Dunmore Miss Buck and Dunmore Crimsonettes. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting various works of art for those people near and dear to her. She also used her talents by sewing for a local bridal boutique. Mary Ann loved the challenge of assembling puzzles and in her earlier years donating her time at the Schultz Teenner League Concession Stand in Dunmore. She also was active in the Dunmore Schools PTA where she created many friendships that continue to this day.
Also surviving are two daughters, Donna Marie Boland and her husband Sean of Clarks Green, and Lynette Labukas, Scranton, and a son Dr. Nicholas Paul Maro and his wife Marybeth, Tunkhannock, three sisters, Dolores Oliveira, Endicott, NY, Audrey O’Rose, Scranton, Barbara Leiss, Deer Park, Wash., two brothers, Ronald Rusinko, Scranton, and Paul Rusinko, Clarks Green, seven grandchildren Maria and her husband Michel, Daniel, David, Kimberly, Kelly, Sean, and Nicholas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9:30am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
Friends may call at the church Saturday morning from 8:30am until the time of mass.
