It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph P. Bender, 36, of Dunmore, formerly of Clarks Summit, announces his passing on Monday night at his home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Debora A. Rafferty Churmblo and stepson of Phil Churmblo and son of the late Joseph P. Bender Sr.

He was educated in and a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School class of 2001. He was formerly employed by Quitflex Manufacturing in Pittston.

Joseph was a motorcycle enthusiast and will be severely missed by all his fellow riders, who he considered family. He was a loving, caring and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are siblings, David Bender and wife, Jennifer, Florida; Crystal Cabral and husband, Kendris, California; Curtis Churmblo and wife, Lacey; Heather; Annette Brown and husband, Travis; Carrianne Kinney, Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by family members and friends.

A service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.

My Heart breaks for you Deb, and your Family. Jay was a really nice guy, and he will be truly missed. Your Family is in my thoughts and prayers.❤️
