Jayne E. Green, 83, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She and her husband, Samuel Green, had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Dec. 26, 2017.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Philip and Hannah Mittelman Joseph, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and received an associate's degree in accounting from Rider University. Before retirement, she was employed by the Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency as a bookkeeper for 38 years.

She was a member of Temple Israel, its Sisterhood, Hadassah and Friends of the Library.

Jayne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed being with family, playing Mahjong and was an animal and nature lover.

Also surviving are a daughter, Dr. Patrice Green and husband, Gerald Young, New York City; two sons, Philip Green, North Wales, Pa.; and Jeffrey Green and fiancée, Kelly Gorniak, Scranton; three grandchildren, Tamara, Ephraim and Noah Green; a brother, Joel Joseph and wife, Miriam, Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ariel Green; and a brother, Harold Joseph.

The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Steven Nathan. Interment, Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore.

Shiva will be observed at the family home, 817 Monroe Ave., Scranton, Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, 1 to 3 p.m., and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or the donor's favorite charity.
