Dorothy Rossi Zaleski, formerly of Tripp Park Section of Scranton, died Tuesday morning in the Allied Skilled Nursing Center’s Alzheimer’s Unit in Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sara Finley Rossi. Dorothy was a graduate of West Scranton High School and the Anthracite Business School and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in West Scranton.

Dorothy was past President of CMC Auxiliary, past President of Ladies of the Elks, and a volunteer for Telespond for ten years.

Dorothy’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion received from the staff at Allied Skilled Nursing at 3 North and Allied Hospice. They truly can’t thank them enough for all they did for Dorothy during her stay with them.

Surviving are daughters, Patti Zaleski, and Paula Spott and husband, Paul; a son, Leonard Zaleski and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Shaun Zaleski and wife, Kelly, Cory and his fiancé Heather Searfoss, Marissa Zaleski and Chris Perry, Amanda Spott and her fiancé, Brian McCormick, and Jennifer Spott and Jon Smerecky, Kyla and Mia Zaleski, and seven great grandchildren, Kylie and Maggie, Amayah, Anthony, and A’liyana, and Xavier and Vinny.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Zaleski and a brother Captain Paul Rossi.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Patrick’s Church, Jackson Street in Scranton. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 PM.
