Dominick James Summa, 54, of Madison Twp., died Tuesday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his husband, Kenneth Krause.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the former Joan Doud and the late James "J.V." Summa Sr. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a hair stylist for many years. 

He enjoyed arts and crafts and crocheting and family vacations. He was especially close to his nieces and nephews and would do anything for anyone in need. He was an avid animal lover and cherished his three miniature daschunds, Freddy, J.J. and Ginger. They were like his children. He was a "city boy" at heart but truly enjoyed moving to the country a few years ago. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Also surviving are siblings, Alan and wife, Laura, Daleville; Lucy Summa, Dunmore; Mark and wife, Nicole, Dunmore; Vita Grace Davis and husband, Reese, Green Castle, Pa.; and Andy and wife, Mary, Scranton; a mother-in-law, Marquita Krause, Madisonville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James V. Summa Jr.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Saturday at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
