Scranton, PA January 14, 1935 ~ April 26, 2017 Date of Service: May 1, 2017Ann A. Stack, 82, of Dunmore, passed away Wednesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband, the late Frank J., passed away on March 14, 2006. The couple had been married for 30 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Cleary Santarsiero and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton.
Ann and her husband, Frank, owned and operated the former MBC Bowling Lanes in Dunmore for 30 years. Ann later went on to own and operate the Harrison House in Scranton where she retired from.
She loved to travel and ballroom dance and spent a lot of her retirement years in Florida with her husband and family. Her biggest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, cooking and entertaining for them on holidays and special occasions. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are sons; Joseph Schimes and wife Ann, Old Forge, James Vieira and wife Terri and Frank Vieira and wife Carolee, all of Scranton. A daughter; Lenore Schimes, Dunmore. Seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sisters; Margaret Marcoff, Florida, Mary Ann Dolphin and husband James, Dunmore, Alice Thiel and husband Robert, Scranton. Brothers; Charles Santarsiero and wife Cookie and Daniel Santarsiero and wife Suzanne, all of Scranton. A step daughter-in-law; Marianne Vieira, Old Forge and a step son-in-law; Joseph Cataldo, California. Sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws of the Stahacz family. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son; Robert “Rocky” Vieira, a step-daughter; Sandra Cataldo and brothers; Joseph, John, Billy, Sr. and Lenny, Sr. Santarsiero.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 10:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Ave. Scranton.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-6pm.
