Jennie J. Ferrese, 82, Dunmore, died Tuesday morning at home.  Her husband, the late William Ferrese died in 1988.

 Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Eugene and Laura Caterino Riccardo, she attended Dunmore Public Schools and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish.  Prior to retirement, she was employed at the Petersberg Silk Mill.  She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her home, and was an outstanding cook who loved being with her family and was very proud of all her nephews  and nieces. 

 Surviving are sisters Minnie Occhipinti, Scranton; Laura Schmidt and husband Ralph, Scranton; Grace Coggi, Syracuse, NY; Rose Mary Pupalitis and husband John Sr., Dunmore; and Ida Sciabarasi and husband Vincent, Caldwell, NJ; as well as nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces.

 She was also preceded in death by sisters Angela Spinuzza, Lucy Riccardo, and Olga Sacco; and brother Anthony Riccardo.

 The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Church,  Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment, St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dunmore.  Friends may call Friday evening in the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. 

 In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial contributions may be made to SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, 303 Smith St., Dunmore, 18512.

So sorry to hear of Jennie's passing. She was a cousin that cared. She will be remembered fondly by my brother, Sid and me.
