William J. ‘Bill’ Fetsko, 82, of Dunmore, died Friday, June 26th at Marywood Heights, Scranton.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late John Fetsko and Mary Juba Fetsko, Bill was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1961. He served with the US Army in Alaska before working for Trane Company in the Keystone Industrial Park. Bill began his career as a firefighter as a volunteer at the Eclipse Hose Co. He retired from the Dunmore Fire Department in 2003, where he proudly served more than 30 years.
A resident of Sport Hill for over 80 years, Bill was an avid gardener and loved fishing and hunting.
Surviving is a brother, Joseph Fetsko, sister, Betty Salva; and sister-in-law, Annmarie Fetsko, all of Dunmore, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Fetsko and his sisters Margaret Bistran, Helen Sofchak Bereznak, Anna Kerekonish Wright, and infant Mary Fetsko.
A funeral service will be held on Monday July 6th at 12PM in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore. A visitation will be held from 11AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Byzantine Cemetery in Dunmore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunmore Fire Department 400 South Blakely St. Dunmore, or St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church 511 E. Drinker St. Dunmore.
