Thomas J. Jimmie, 80, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion May Jimmie.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Ralph and Anna Hresko-Sisco Jimmie, Tommy was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Johnson Technical School Class of 1962. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged in February 1970. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore. After many years of working in the environmental field, he founded Datom Products, Inc. in 1992, a true legacy to his hard work.
Tommy was a big supporter of Dunmore High School sports, and particularly loved to go to T.J’s football games and also watch Dana’s cheerleading. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pop.” He was a proud member of the Dunmore Lions Club, the San Cataldo Club, Scranton UNICO, the Villa Capri Cruisers, Johnson Technical School Alumni, and was the former president of the Dunmore Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to his wife, Marion, Tommy is survived by his daughter Dana Lindemuth and husband, Barry; and son T.J. Jimmie and wife Suzanne Dunmore. He was the very proud grandfather (Pop) of Gavin, Philadelphia and Maren Lindemuth, Anna Jimmie, and Margaret (Maggie) Jimmie, all of Dunmore. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Karen Magnotta, Jeanne Yost, Linda May Conway and brother-in-law Edward May; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph and Bobby.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
