Ralph R. Morris, Jr., 78, Waymart, died Thursday morning at Providence Place Senior Living in Drums. He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Cathy Jackson of Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Ralph R. Sr. and Mary O’Hara Morris, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School Class of 1964 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Prior to his retirement, he was a boilermaker and welder with Local Union #13 and also worked as a certified nurses aide with numerous nursing homes throughout the region. He was an avid Penn State Football fan and season ticket holder and loved music, dancing and attending concerts.
Also surviving are his sons, Ralph R. Morris III and wife Margie of Dickson City, and Scott T. Morris and wife Alison of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren Ralphie, Matthew, Krista, Thomas, and Andrew Morris; his sister Lenore McEvily of Tampa, FL and brother, Allen Morris and wife Lynn of Overland Park, KS; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lucy’s Church, 949 Scranton St., West Scranton. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
Interment, St. Patrick’s Mission Church Cemetery, Fermoy, PA.
