MaryAnn E. Dolphin, 79, Dunmore, died Tuesday at home. She and her husband, James Dolphin had celebrated their wedding anniversary on October 7th.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Cleary Santarsiero, was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1964, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton.
MaryAnn, along with her husband Jim, raised and took tremendous care of their daughter Denise who was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Her determination to provide the best medical treatment has allowed Denise to live her life when others told them it was not possible.
Surviving is a daughter, Denise Ruchak and her husband Anthony, Jessup, MD, grandchildren, Jamey Patrice Ruchak and Karey Ann Ruchak, a great grandson Ronan, siblings Alice Thiel and Daniel Santarsiero and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Joseph, John, William, Leonard, and two sisters Margaret Markoff and Ann Stack.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore.
Friends may visit Sunday from 2-4PM at the funeral home.
Her family kindly requests that you Do Not send flowers due to health concerns of MaryAnn’s daughter who recently underwent a double lung transplant.
