Lee Gromer

Leoba “Lee” Gromer, 87 of Scranton, passed away peacefully at home on May 21. She was the wife of Frank Perfetto with whom she shared 67 years of joyful marriage. Together they enjoyed long rides through the Poconos, eating out and spotting one-of-a-kind antiques.

Born October 29, 1938, Lee was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Harris Gromer. Lee was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. Proud of her Jewish faith, she was also a member of Temple Hesed in Scranton.

Lee was employed by Jaunty Textiles for 35 years, where she made many lasting friendships and afterwards worked as a receptionist at Telespond, where she enjoyed greeting and talking with the senior citizens who would attend daycare services. Along with being an avid walker, Lee was many things to the many people in her life who loved her. A great wife, friend, daughter, sister and aunt, may her memory be a blessing.

Along with her husband, Lee is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lee is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Helen Ouslander, Dorothy "Toby" Lerner, Harriet Rosenberg, Ruth Lebowitz, Marlene, Mindy and Frimi Gromer; and her nephew Gary Lebowitz.

Lee’s husband and family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Visiting Angels for the kindness shown to Lee and her family during this difficult time.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 24, at 11am in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz. There will be no Shiva.
