Joan Marie (Baclaski) McNamera

Joan Marie Baclaski McNamara,76, of Scranton passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine Baclaski Cohowicz. She attended the Old Forge public schools and prior to retirement she worked as a supervisor at Schiff’s for 41 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in West Scranton.

Joan was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and would help anyone in need. She was selfless and adored her fur-granddaughter, Trixie. Who kept her company and was always by her side. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving is her daughter, Marcy R. McNamara, Scranton. A grandson, Austin Leoncini, Davenport, FL. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michele McNamara Leoncini. An infant daughter, Colleen McNamara. A sister, Lorraine J. Giacometti and a brother, Vincent Baclaski.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at St. Patrick Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton at 11:00am.

Friends may visit from 10:00am until the time of mass.

Interment is private at the convenience of the family in Old Forge Cemetery.
