Grace A. Cerra

Grace A. Cerra, 97, of Dunmore, passed away Wednesday morning surrounded by her family at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, the late Joseph A., passed away on July 27, 2021. The couple had been married for 74 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Cataldo and Mary Pirreli Urso. She was a graduate of Throop High School and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore.

Grace was a wonderful "Italian cook," making meals for her family and friends during holidays and traditional "Sunday dinners." She was a kind, gentle and supportive woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She would always find the good in people. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Grace's family wishes to thank Dr. Linda Franz and the nurses and staff at Regional Hospital of Scranton for all of their care and compassion.

Surviving are a daughter, Rose Mary Cerra, Dunmore; grandchildren, Charlene Cerra and husband Kenneth Crouch, Trooper, Pa.; and Cassie Walsh and husband Matthew, Clarks Summit; great-grandchildren, Theo and Charlie Walsh and Jackson Crouch; sisters, Pam Schwartz and husband Stan, Lansdale; and Mary Ann Urso, Scranton; daughter-in-law, Cathy Cerra, Clarks Summit; godchildren, Marianne Long, Peckville; and Mary-Pamela Mozda, Throop; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Charlie Cerra, and a brother, Epifanio "Abe" Urso.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
