Dorothy Kromko, 89, of Scranton, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday November 17, 2022 at Green Ridge Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony A. Kromko in 2006.
Dottie was born in New York City to the late Martin and Irene Kolodjeski Slawinski. In 1954 Dottie was set up on a blind date with a handsome New York City police officer. They married in 1956 and settled down in Jackson Heights, NY. where they planned to raise their five children. God had another plan for Dottie. In 1975 Dottie suffered a cerebral hemorrhage which confined her to a wheelchair for the rest of her life; however, she did not let this define her. Being in her company was an experience! She was truly an inspiration with her wit, good nature, caring personality and love of God. Anyone who was fortunate to know her was amazed by her positive outlook on life. Dottie did not believe in saying “Good Bye”, but would always say “So Long”.
So long Mom, until we meet again.
Surviving are her children, Dorothy Tagliente and husband, Gary, Morris Plains, NJ, Valerie Coles and husband, Jim, Clarks Summit, Brigitte Reach and husband, Gary, Moscow, Lisa Ripper and husband, Ed, Manassas, VA, and Tony Kromko and wife, Jackie, Dunmore; a sister, Elizabeth Partridge, Lake Grove, NY; ten grandchildren; Daniel, Nicholas, Amanda, Alexa, Nicole, Melanie, Alivia, Anthony, Anthony and Adam, three great-grandchildren; Jillian, Joseph and Sage as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
