Yvette Silverstein Lichtman succumbed to complications from Alzheimer’s related mental and physical ailments.  Her health deteriorated after her beloved husband Ira passed away after 63 years of marriage.  Yvette is at peace reunited with him and her daughter Sydelle O’Neill who also preceded her in death.

Yvette descends from a prominent Carbondale family.  Her mother, Lena Kurlancheek Silverstein, and Samuel Silverstein originally from Wilkes-Barre they had a grocery on Providence Road.   A past owner with her husband of Lichtman’s Industrial Supply and 721 Antiques she operated with Sydelle until the couple retired to Coconut Creek, Florida. 

Recently a resident of the Jewish Home, she passed peacefully at Hospice of the Sacred Heart with daughter Nadyne Remetz at her side.  Other family members include devoted son-in-law Steve Remetz, Allentown, sister Natalie, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore conducted by Rabbi Steven Nathan.  Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. 

Burial will be at South Florida Memorial Military Cemetery. 

Shiva will be held at the home of Nadyne Remetz, 358 N. 41st Street, Allentown on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., Friday from 2-4 p.m., and Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home of Eastern PA, 1101 Vine Street, Scranton, PA 18510; or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

I love you grandma and will miss you. I will always remember you the way you are in this picture. With your devoted husband. Glad you are together again.
