Sydelle Lichtman O’Neil, 65, Scranton, died Sunday at home.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Yvette Silverstein Lichtman, Scranton, and the late Ira Lichtman, she was a graduate of Audubon and Technical High School where she was an active member of the band and was also a member of Temple Israel. Sydelle was employed in the family business, Lichtman’s Industrial Supply, 721 Antiques, and her own business “Sydelle’s”.  As an involved former board member at the Jewish Community Center, she was recognized for her dedication, then going on to campaign for our State Representative in 1986.

Surviving are two daughters, Alyssa Palermo and her husband, Tom, MD, and Tiffany Megotz and her husband, Carl, Scranton; a sister, Nadyne Remetz and her husband, Steve, Allentown; aunt Natalie Silk, FL; 7 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be today with services at 12:30 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, by Rabbi Dovid Saks of the Jewish Discovery Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Visitors may also call during the period of shiva at the Jewish Home, 1101 Vine St., Scranton today from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. thereafter at the residence of her sister, 358 N. 41st St., Allentown, Sunday from 2-4 P.M.
