Stella Cali Sworin of Scranton, formerly of Dunmore, died Monday in Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. She was the widow of John Sworin, who died March 24, 1988.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angelina Messina Cali and attended Dunmore public schools. She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore, and before retirement, worked in the local garment industry. She was a member of the WTS Club, Kyna Club, 50 Plus Club and 800 Club, which kept her social life very busy. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, wife, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and will forever remain in our hearts.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Ann Burke and husband, Dennis, Scranton; and Cindy Sworin, Dunmore; a sister, Jennie Scott and husband, Thomas, Dunmore; a brother, Anthony Cali, Owego, N.Y.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Madelyn Naro, Concetta Parrino, Apolina Lemoncelli, Mary Fedgo and Theresa Sabia; and brothers, Salvatore and Charles Cali.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.  Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m
