Simona Lila Fielding, 83, Clarks Summit, died Friday afternoon in V.N.A. Hospice at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Louis and Rachel Gross Schneider, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and went on to attend Mansfield University, later graduating from Marywood College in 1954. She was a pioneer in the music therapy field and was one of the first Registered Music Therapists in the country, becoming a special education teacher for the NEIU. She was a former member of Temple Israel, Scranton

She was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Fielding, and a sister, Pearl Ecker.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Moshe Saks.
