Salvatore A. Nole Sr. passed away Monday in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. His wife of 61 years is Shirley Roth Nole.
Born in Dunmore, Sal was the son of the late Donato and Vita Sabatelle Nole. He was a sergeant first-class in the Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and co-founder of Nole Brothers Electric. Before retirement, he was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of McHugh-Bushweller VFW Post 3474 in DunmoreSal's talents were many; his passions were cooking, gardening, camping and his dog, Bugsy. He was a welcoming man of all who walked through his door. He especially loved his grandchildren and sharing the tradition of the Christmas Eve feast.
Our family would like to thank Sal's sister, Mary Ann Benfante, for her constant care, help and love throughout Sal's illness. Also sincere thanks to Sacred Heart Hospice for its compassionate loving care.
He is survived by two sons, Leonard Nole, Greenfield Twp.; and Salvatore Nole and wife, Maryanne, Clarks Summit; grandchildren, Kristen Weary and husband, Kristoffer, Dunmore; Ashley Nole, Dunmore; Deanna Nole and companion, Ray Kline, Massachusetts; Eric Nole, Maryland; and Michael Nole, Allentown; sister, Mary Ann Benfante, Dunmore; and brother-in-law Daniel Coviello, Moscow.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
Frinds may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.
