Rose M. Olivetti, 84, of Dunmore, died peacefully Friday morning in the VNA Hospice at Geisinger – CMC, Scranton. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Delvi J. Olivetti, Sr.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Jennie Scartelli Domenick and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. She was a member of the SS Anthony and Rocco Parish and its’ Altar and Rosary Society.

She was the “original” secretary of Dunmore Roofing and Supply Co. which was established in 1952 by her husband, Delvi and his brothers, Armand and Leo. She enjoyed traveling to the Casinos in Atlantic City and relaxing in her Brigantine home. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially traditional “Sunday Dinners” and holidays. She was the youngest of nine siblings whom she missed dearly. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose could always be found with her husband who rarely left her side especially during her illness; their loving relationship was admired by many.

Rose was a humble generous lady; full of heart. She shared her love with all; always there when needed in her caring and unselfish way. Rosie will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.


The Family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their care and compassion.

Also surviving is a daughter, Arlene Golden and husband Tom; son Delvi, Jr. and wife Laura and son David and wife Mauri, all of Dunmore. Grandchildren, Tom Golden, Jr. and wife Deanna, Katie Golden Smith and husband Jim, Corey, Kyle and Chris Golden; Alicia Olivetti and fiance Steve, Michele Olivetti Meyers and husband Ryan, David, Jr., and Mia Rose Olivetti. Great-grandchildren, Delani, Tommi Jane, Beau, Bailey, Ava Rose, Cullen, Ayla, Corey, Tyler, Allie Rose, Caden, Lyla, and Mischa. A sister-in-law, Margie Bosco and her husband William, NY,NY and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by sisters; Madelyn Chiavacci, Antoinette Olivetti and Mary Boccadori and brothers; William, Ralph, Theodore, Frank and Joseph Domenick.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 11am in SS Anthony and Rocco Parish, Smith St., Dunmore.

Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St. Wilkes Barre, PA 18701 or St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton, PA 18509.

Dear Uncle Delvi & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss, Aunt Rose was such a sweet and gentle soul. She will be remembered with love. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. May you find Peace in Memories, and strength from the love of family and friends.
