Roland (Ron) Perkins, 82, a resident of Gino Merli Veterans’ Center, Scranton, PA, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 6, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A native and long-time resident of Binghamton, NY, he was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a proud veteran who served our country honorably in the Korean War. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan!

After a long career in offset printing, he retired to Dallastown, PA where he regularly attended Stewartstown Baptist Church and Red Lion Senior Center.

He was a loving Dad and Grandpa, and a devoted son and brother, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by parents John and Ethel (Hamblin) Perkins, five sisters and four brothers. He is survived by children Mark (Debra) Perkins, Endicott, NY; Barbara Christ, Naperville, IL; Cynthia Lucas, New Freedom, PA; grandchildren Jennifer, Brent, and Brittany Perkins, Endicott, NY; Joshua (Morgan) Christ, Montebello, CA; Nicole Christ, Toledo, OH; Craig Perkins, New Freedom, PA; a sister-in-law, Nancy Perkins, Saratoga, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 26th from 5-7pm at Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore, PA. A funeral service will follow at 7pm. Interment will begin 11:30am on Friday, April 27th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate.
