Robert T. Novak, 85, Dunmore, died Wednesday morning in the V.N.A. Hospice at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. He and his wife the former Carmel M. Mecca would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 17th.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Sable Novak. Bob attended Scranton Public Schools and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore and it’s Holy Name Society. Prior to retirement he worked for Supermarket Services and was a member of Teamsters Local #229.
His wife and family would like to thank Dr. Salvatore Lawrence for his years of loving care and compassion given to Bob.
Also surviving are two sisters, Frances Gurnari, Roaring Brook Twp. and Joan Dozack, Dickson City, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Agnes Novak and a brother Edward Novak.
The funeral will be Saturday morning from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street in Dunmore.
Burial will follow the mass in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.
