Richard "Dick" Anthony O'Donnell, 91, of Clarks Summit, went to be with his Lord on July 31. He and his beloved wife, the former Theresa Bulger, were married for 64 years. 

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Dick was the son of the late Anthony and Elsie Colliet O'Donnell and a member of Our Lady of Snows Church, Clarks Summit. After graduating from Central High School, he was a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. Dick returned to Scranton and worked as a sales manager at Wallace Murry Corp. for 27 years. He and Theresa went on to relocate to Albuquerque, N.M., where he served as a senior vice president at Aztec Industries. He and his wife were active volunteers in their community and were dedicated longtime supporters of the Holy Family Residence in Scranton.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Dick is also survived by his daughter, Karen Murphy and her husband, Martin, Clarks Summit; a granddaughter, Tara Murphy and her husband, Carlos M. Morales, New York City; and a grandson, Timothy Murphy, Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. He was loved and admired by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Raymond O'Donnell.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of the medical professionals and caregivers who supported Dick, including Nancy Jane Karam, who tirelessly provided him and his family with love and comfort.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Allied Services Foundation, c/o Hospice Center at 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart at 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.

Although loss of such a tremendous Dad is painful, know that the vail between death and every lasting life is thin. He is always close by. Celibate his life and all that he accomplished to make this world shine brighter. God bless your family.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom too this week and she was also 91. No matter how old they are though,they will still be missed. Sincerely, Fran L

Karen , Mrs O’Donnell and family, so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I remember him as such a quiet gentleman. I hope all your memories will help you thru this difficult time.
