Mary Rose "Rosie" Margotta, formerly of Dunmore, died Thursday at the residence of her daughter in Old Forge. She was the wife of Frank Margotta, who died in 2001.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Patricia McGuire Langan. She was educated in Scranton schools and prior to retirement had been employed in the security department at the former Jamesway in Dunmore, as a Dunmore Borough police officer, and the Lackawanna County Sherriff’s Department Drug Task Force.

Her family would like to thank At Home Quality Care and a special thank you to Carla, her caregiver, Dr. Darlene Dunay and her staff and the Care Givers of America Hospice especially J.J. and Sister Joann for all their loving and devoted care.

Surviving are three daughters, Lucy Roth and her husband, Joel, Scranton; Jeanne Donovan and her husband Paul, Jefferson Twp.; and Connie Uhrin and her husband Jerry, Old Forge, with whom she resided; four grandchildren, Jill White, Frank Borgia, Corey and Zachary Uhrin; three great grandchildren Shelbe Rose, Haile and Abbie; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by sisters Patricia Langan and Regina Baransky.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

My heartfelt sympathy to you all over the passing of your Mom. You talked about her so often, I felt like I knew her. God Bless her and your family.
