Mary D. Sabatella, 75, Dunmore, died Tuesday morning in Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. She and her husband Patrick Sabatella had celebrated 53 years of marriage on September 7th 2016.

Born in Binghamton, she was the daughter of the late James and Romayne Ross Walsh. Mary graduated from West Scranton High School and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who had a great sense of humor. She will be missed by her family more than words can express and her constant companion, her boxer mix dog Shelby is lost without her.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lori Hook and her husband David J., of Dunmore, two sons, Patrick of Olyphant, and Michael of Dunmore, a granddaughter, Jessica Hook, Dunmore, two sisters, Susie Walsh, Scranton, and Theresa Reynolds, Lake Ariel, five brothers, Michael Walsh, Taylor, Patrick and Kenny Walsh, both of Dickson City, Kevin Walsh, Factoryville, Brian Walsh, Scranton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Judy Eckersley, and two brothers, James and Robert Walsh.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street in Dunmore. Burial will take place at a later date in the Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 4pm-7pm.

I'm so sorry for your loss; its so difficult to lose our parents. I'm sure you will have many wonderful memories to sustain you and your family during these times. My prayers go out to you.
