Mary Ann Smith, 56, of Dunmore, passed away on Easter Sunday at her home in Dunmore.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Lillian Soberoski Smith Krupa and stepdaughter of the late Rudolph Krupa. She was a graduate of Scranton High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton. She was employed in the workshop at Allied Services for many years.

Mary Ann was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and her favorite color was pink. She had a talent and passion for drawing and was currently enrolled at the ArtWorks Studio, where she took drawing classes. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and was a member of many local bowling leagues. She enjoyed vacations, holidays and going shopping with her longtime friend, Carol. She loved spending time and visiting with her family and friends and she especially enjoyed visits from her furry grandniece, Stella Blue. She always had a way to make someone smile and just simply enjoyed life. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Surviving are loving brothers, Thomas J. and wife, Linda, Grand Rapids, Mich.; James E. and wife, Denise, Scranton; Gary W. and wife, Madelyn, Jefferson Twp.; and Edward G. and companion, Jan Reilly, Dunmore; a loving sister-in-law, Linda Smith, Dunmore; loving nephews, Jim Smith and wife, Katie; Shawn, Eric, Brent and Tommy Smith; loving nieces, Kelly and Natalie Smith; a very special niece, Tara, who spent much time loving and caring for her aunt; several loving grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411; or St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

I am sorry for the passing of Mary, I heard some wonderful things about her. My thoughts go to her family and friends.

My heart is so sad with Maryann's passing. She had such a way with people and her love of life was infectious. I'm so sorry for all of you. Thinking of you and imagining her reunion with Aunt Lillian and Grandma Eleanor. Love and hugs from Seattle.
