Rose Marie Martorana, 89, Dunmore, died Sunday in the Hospice Unit at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Michael L. Martorana Sr., who died Nov. 24, 1998.

Born in Dunmore She was the daughter of the late Nicola and Ann Marie Pietraface D’Andrea. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of S.S. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore and it’s Altar and Rosary Society. Prior to retirement she was employed by Model Rite Mfg. Co., Dunmore and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. She was also a member of the M&M Club and the Emanon Club.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed her family, reading, cooking and baking and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Martorana Kerr and husband, Thomas, Philadelphia and Joan Cerra and husband Sal, Dunmore, a son Michael L. Martorana Jr. and wife April, Dunmore, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mary Germano, Dunmore and Ann Marie Gretzula and husband Joseph, Boca Raton, Fla. a brother, John D’Andrea and wife MaryAnn, Moosic and a sister-in-law, Mary Martorana, Dunmore and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Steven Kenney, three sisters, Margaret D’Andrea, Lucy Mastri and Carmella Hollenbach and three brothers, Leonard , Nicholas and an infant brother Leonard D’Andrea.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith
St., Dunmore.

Interment  in St. Michael’s  Cemetery, Dunmore. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

So sorry I was not able to deliver in person, but you all have been in my thoughts. I have fond memories of your Mom, as a member of the special M&M Club. Eight exceptional ladies !
