Marlene C. Mastro-Tyrrell, 60, of Dunmore, died Wednesday afternoon at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Paul. The couple celebrated 14 years of marriage on April 23rd.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Ann M. Carlo Mastro and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. She was formerly employed at Riccardo’s Market, Dunmore.

Marlene loved to cook and always made sure she had enough food to send to all those she loved. She lite up any room with her beautiful smile. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Geisinger-CMC, Geisinger of Wyoming Valley and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their care and compassion.

Also surviving is a sister; AnnMarie Mastro- Donato, Dunmore. A brother; Bennie Mastro, Gouldsboro. Niece; Allie Donato, and a nephew; Randy Donato and wife Maggie all of Dunmore. A sister-in-law; Ann Tyrrell, Mayfield. Brothers-in-law; James Tyrrell and wife Aggie and Joseph Tyrrell and fiancé CeCe, all of Forest City. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St. Dunmore.

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.

RIch and I send our thoughts and prayers your way in your time of grief. As you may remember I worked with Marlene and always found her to be a caring and funny person. I know you will miss here dearly.

Please accept my sincere condolences, I am so sorry for your loss. Marlene was a classmate of mine at Dunmore High School. She was so beautiful and kind.
