Marie Theresa Mangieri Swadeba, 92, of Dunmore, died Friday evening in the Gardens of Green Rridge, Scranton. Her husband, Joseph, died Jan. 3, 2004. The couple had been married for 42 years.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Coyer Mangieri and a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1943. She was a lifelong member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish, Dunmore.

She had several secretarial jobs throughout her career and retired from the Scranton State General Hospital. Aunt Theresa, as she was called by her nieces and nephews, was an avid New York Yankees fan, loved doing crossword puzzles, playing card games, attending family functions and going out for lunch and dinner. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gardens at Green Ridge and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful care of our aunt.

Surviving are a sister-in- law, Mary Androcziko; nephews, Thomas and Nicholas Mangieri; nieces, Rose Blachek, Ellie Baka, Joann Bistran, Dee Hetherson, Katy O'Donnell, Marie Lalley, Deborah Chilek, Diane Stango and Del Kalinowski; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great- nephews, cousins and some very close friends.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph; Nicholas and wife, Florence; Thomas and wife, Catherine; a sister, Antoinette Felice and husband, Joseph; a nephew, Joseph Mangieri; great-nephew, Christopher Baka; brothers-in-law, Andrew and Frank Swadeba; and sisters-in-law, Ann Kushinka and Marge Filarsky.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden- DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.
