In Loving Memory of Louise M. Palermo

Louise M. Palermo

Louise M. Palermo

Scranton, PA March 19, 1923 ~ November 25, 2018 Date of Service: Privately held

Louise M. Palermo, 95, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on Sunday.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Palermo.

Born in Jessup on March 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Octavio and Erminia Carboni Massetti.  She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

Louise is survived by her four children, Elaine, Richard, Ross Jr., and Vincent and wife Carolyn; granddaughter, Lisa Zawadski; great-grandson, Christopher, Zawadski.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Paul Palermo; and six siblings: John, Joseph, Ziggy, Tom, and August Massetti, and sister Florence Mensel.

She worked for the war effort in a plant in N.J. She and her husband Ross ran a grocery store in Pittsburg. She helped renovate apartments and homes, and was a receptionist in her daughter’s beauty salon, Hairoscope. Most of all, her greatest love was her role as homemaker and caring for her children. She also enjoyed walking Lake Scranton with her husband, Ross, for many years, searching antique markets, watching movies, and watching her son Richard on HSN. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sister, and her in-laws on weekends and holidays.

The beauty of her soul came through on her face. She was a force of nature, had a sense of humor, wit, and most of all grace in her most trying of times. She showed understanding, love, and compassion for all who met her. She will live in our hearts forever!

Louise’s family would like to thank Traditional Home Health and Hospice for the compassion and loving care of their mother, and also Cynthia M. Durkin, R.N.

The family will have private services in St. Anthony of Padua Church.  There are no calling hours.
