In Loving Memory of Leonard LJ IV

Leonard

Leonard "LJ" DeMarco IV

Dunmore, PA July 24, 1994 ~ August 18, 2018 Date of Service: August 23, 2018

Leonard “L J” DeMarco, IV, 24, of Dunmore, died Saturday at home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Leonard “Lenny” DeMarco, III, Dunmore and Lisa Trucks, New York.

He attended the Dunmore Schools and Mid Valley and was currently working for Commonwealth Financial.

It was so easy to smile when LJ was around especially with his great sense of humor or when he quickly responded with a funny sarcastic remark. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephew and they absolutely adored their Uncle L. He loved teasing his Gram just to make her laugh. He had the smoothest dance moves and such a goofy laugh. LJ was quiet and shy, but his hugs were so expressive and loving if you were one of the lucky ones to receive one.

At the age of 5, LJ started his passion for the game of basketball.  He finished 3rd in the country in the 9-year-old division at the Elks Club National Free Throw competition.  His love for basketball always remained with him.

LJ was extremely close to his Dad, they were best friends and they were always there for each other.  He had a loving, inseparable relationship with his sisters Jamie and Coco.

The bond between LJ, his dad and sisters is unbreakable. Although LJ has left us way to soon, he will always be in our hearts and our love for him will last forever.

The family wants to break the silence of addiction. To anyone reading this, the demon of addiction is still out on the streets, waiting to kill the next innocent suffering person who may be thinking about using. If we can save just one life from the sickness and suffering and spare their families, we pray that breaking the silence of addiction works.

Also surviving are sisters; Jamie Lynn and Samantha “Coco” DeMarco, both of Dunmore. A half-sister; Autumn Conahan, New York. Paternal grandparents; Mary Jo DeMarco, Dunmore and Leonard DeMarco, II and wife Karen, New York. Aunts and uncles; Lisa DeMarco, GA, Lynn  Gavin and husband Tom, Leslie DeMarco, all of Dunmore. Laurie  Bzdick and husband Mike, Blakely and Travis DeMarco, New York. Nieces; Juliet Ayende and Ellie Jane DeMarco and nephew; Julian Ayende. Cousins and  numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by cousins; Anthony and Paul Paskert.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30am in St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
