Kelly Rose Murphy, 38, Scranton died Sunday evening at home surrounded by her family. She and her husband Paul T. Murphy were married May 22, 2010.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Susan Tucker, Scranton. Kelly was a graduate of Scranton High School Class of 1993 and Attended Wilkes University. She was currently employed with Moses Taylor Hospital and was a member of St. Paul’s Parish in Scranton.

Her true enjoyment was spending time with friends and family. Kelly lived her life without an agenda. What you saw was what you got with sincerity. She will be missed by her husband Paul and their rescued dogs Willow and Roni, more than words can express right now.

Her family would like to thank, first and foremost, Dr. Kishori, who went above and beyond just standard care, the nurses and staff with Traditional Home Health and Hospice, and Dr. Paul Paik and staff of Memorial-Sloan Kettering in New York City, for the care provided to Kelly during her illness.

Also surviving are a mother, Susan Tucker, Scranton, a sister, Hollie Witts, Scranton, a niece Emily Witts, Scranton, an Aunt Karen Berberich and her husband Charles, Scranton, a cousin Michael Berberich, Brooklyn, NY and father and mother in law, Paul and Mari Murphy, Clarks Summit, an a sister in law, Meghan Murphy, Baltimore, MD. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Rose and William Pfeiffer, and an uncle Frank Pfeiffer.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30am in St. Paul’s Church, Penn Avenue in Scranton. All those attending the mass are asked to go directly to the church Thursday morning. Entombment will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kelly’s name to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond Road Clarks Summit 18411.

I remember the first time we met Kelly at a family visit. I was about 12 and she was around 1... ...and we are all so very sorry to hear of her passing from us so soon. She will always be in our prayers.
