Judith Lois Gabriel, 52, of Dunmore, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday morning. She was the wife of Robert R. Gabriel. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on Feb. 2.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Louis and Kathleen Britt Barbieri, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1983 and had worked at Supermarket Service for more than 25 years. She pursued and realized her dream of becoming a Realtor and was associated with Weichert Realtors. Judith had also been a longtime member of Teamsters International Local 229. She was a kind-hearted woman who would do anything for anyone. She loved animals, volunteered at animal shelters and also loved her deceased dog, Cindy, and her best friend, Sammy, a black Lab.

Judith was always doing benefits to help others in need by raising money and making raffle baskets.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer M. Gabriel, Dunmore; a sister, Chris Barbieri, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Sandi Gabriel and Donna Gabriel Zilla, both of Dunmore; a brother-in-law, Ron Gabriel and wife, Leanne, North Carolina, cousins, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Louie Barbieri; and brother-in-law, John Gabriel.

A funeral service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Northeast Division, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109.
