Josephine A. “JoAnn” Pane, 76, Dunmore, died Sunday evening in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was the wife of the late Frank J. “Chief” Pane who died in 2010. They had been married for 49 years.

Born in Scranton, Jo Ann was the daughter of the late Phillip and Carmella Saracino Sardo. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1959 and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore. Prior to retirement she worked at Sarno and Sons in Scranton.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling with her husband to Boston, her monthly meetings with the Twenties Club, and her Tuesday night Coffee Clatch. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be missed by all, especially her dog, Charlie.

Surviving are a son Eugene J. Pane, Dunmore and two daughters, Diane Jenkins and her husband Kevin, Dunmore, and Lisa Pane Rockhold, Eudora, Kansas, a brother, Charles Sardo, Dunmore, and two sisters, Carmella Pulice, Scranton, and her twin sister Rose DeMarco, Dunmore, three granddaughters, Stephanie Kerekes and her husband John Jr., Dunmore, Paige Rockhold, Eudora, Kansas, and Nicole Nucero and her husband John, Myrtle Beach, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins, as well as a special friend of the family, Colleen Scott, whom she affectionately referred to as her "adopted daughter."

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart and doctors Hyzinski, McGuire, and Speicher for their genuine care.

The funeral will be held Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Dunmore. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 4pm-7pm.

Lisa and Paige, we are all so sorry about this tremendous loss. We know your hearts are broken but please know that the love of your seeet mother and grandma will help you as your memories bring you peace and joy. We will keep you in our hearts and our prayers. Love you girls
