Dunmore, PA July 10, 1933 ~ January 27, 2013 Date of Service: February 1, 2013Joseph D'Andrea, 79, of Dunmore, died Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace Banno D'Andrea.
Son of the late Joseph and Margaret Montana D'Andrea, he was raised in the Bunker Hill section of Dunmore and resided in Dunmore his entire life. His innovative accomplishments in the world of construction were many. He was a man of strong faith and was passionate for his God, family and friends.
He is also survived by his two children: his daughter, Linda D. Barrasse; and his son, Joseph R. and his spouse, Mary Ellen. He has five grandchildren, Matthew, Olivia and Nicholas D'Andrea, as well as Joseph and Cody Barrasse.
Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Anthony.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church on Smith Street in Dunmore. The family asks that all those attending the funeral Mass go directly to the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph D'Andrea Memorial Fund, c/o Scranton Preparatory School, 1000 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, 18509.
