John J. Greco, Jr., 86, of Dunmore, died Monday morning at home.  He and his wife, the former Margaret Powanda, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on September 8th.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late John and Mary Morelli Greco, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1949, and was later involved in the coordination of their class reunions.  He earned his degree from Temple University in electronics, and prior to retirement was employed as a project engineer by PennDOT, where he was member of the 25 year club.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a life member of the VFW McHugh-Bushweller Post 3474 and the American Legion Victory Post 13, both of Dunmore.  John was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore, as well as its Holy Name Society.  He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. 

Also surviving are daughters, Jean Marie Alu and husband Dan of Dunmore, Juneann Greco of Dunmore, and Carolyn Rose and husband Gene of Clarks Summit; son Anthony Greco and wife Mary Ann of Dunmore; grandchildren, Caressa Dempsey and husband Michael, Brandi Solano and husband Jason, Danielle Marcinek and husband Mike, Anthony Alu and wife Jennifer, Alexis Alu, Nicholas Rose, and Taylor Rose; great-grandchildren Amelia Alu, Scarlett Marcinek, Michael and Luke Dempsey; a sister, Ann Marie Greco Ferguson and husband John of Dunmore; a brother, Anthony Greco of Dunmore; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore. 

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

June ann and family, we are so sorry to hear bout your dad. He was wonderful and kind man. Please tell your mom and siblings that debbie and I are so sorry. We cant make your arrangements because we are at my sons for Thanksgiving in fla. Again so sorry
