Jeanne M. Walsh, 89, of Dunmore died Friday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the widow of William F. Walsh, who passed away October 21, 2004.

Born in Pittston on February 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Angela Gordon Bohan.  She graduated from St. John Evangelist High School, Pittston and Wyoming Seminary.  Before retirement, she was employed by Scranton Counseling for over 35 years.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore and its MAC club.  She was a Eucharistic Minister at the church and a volunteer at St. Mary’s school and annual bazzars. 

Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was an avid reader, traveler, and known for her apple pies.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Falasca, and husband, Gary, Center Valley, Ann Marzolino and husband  Robert, Dunmore; two sons William F. Walsh Jr., and wife Janet, Boiling Springs, and Tom J. Walsh and wife Mary Lynn, Dunmore. Two brothers, Joseph Bohan, Maryland and Edward Bohan, Brackney, PA;  10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Bohan.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at the Hospice of the Scared Heart, caregivers, Regina, Karla, Donna, Mauri, and Dr. Gerard Nealon for all their wonderful care and guidance.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore.  Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

 

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8pm at the funeral home.
