Jean Rosenstein, 87, of Scranton, died Saturday morning in the intensive care unit at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Filmore Rosenstein. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage on Nov. 30, 2013.


Born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of the late Abraham and Sylvia Niekrie Isikoff, she was a member of the Beth Shalom Synagogue and the Senior Adult Club at the Jewish Community Center, Scranton. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.


Also surviving are a daughter, Shelley Rhodes and husband, William, Dickson City; a son, Howard Rosenstein, Dunmore; and grandchildren; Sarah Beth and Adam William Rhodes, both of Dickson City.


She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marylin London; and a brother, Morris Isikoff.The funeral will be Monday with services at 1 p.m. in the Carluccci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, by Rabbi Yisroel Brotsky. Interment, Dalton Jewish Cemetery.


Friends may call from noon until the service. Shiva will be at the family residence Monday through Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Shalom Congregation, 1025 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18510.

Dear Filmore, Howard, Shelley and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Jean was such a lovely, caring, friendly woman. It was an honor to have known her.
Trudi and Sam also send their love and deepest sympathy.
May her memory be a blessing and a comfort to you.
