Irving L. Zlatin, 88, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Wednesday morning at his home. His late wife, the former Marilyn "Lyn" Bash, to whom he was married for 47 years, died in 2009.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Samuel and Ida Plotkin Zlatin, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Penn State University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having served in the 48th Topographic Battalion. He was the owner of Keystone Apparel and later associated with Lyn Zlatin Interviewing. He was a kind, gentle and loving husband, father and grandpa.
Surviving are sons, Michael Freidlin, of Dunmore; and Eric Zlatin and wife, Arlena, of Fairfield, Conn.; grandchildren, Emily and Lea Zlatin; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sidney Zlatin, and his sisters, Hannah Singer and Theresa Rothenberg.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Dovid Saks.
Friends will be received during Shiva in the community room at Webster Towers, 500 N. Webster Ave., Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.
