Irving Ecker, of Scranton and Coconut Creek, Fla., died Friday in Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, Fla. His wife is the former Bernice Pikarsky.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Aron and Catherine Wint Ecker, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. Before retirement, he was employed as a production manager at Lackawanna Pants Co. for 47 years and also by the Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency. He was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation, Scranton.

Also surviving are a son, Elliot Ecker and wife, Marjorie, Scranton; a granddaughter, Alyssa Ecker; a brother, Marvin Ecker, Staatsburg, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Yisroel Brotsky. Interment in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at Webster Towers, 500 N. Webster Ave, Scranton, on Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 2 to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486 or to the donor's favorite charity

I was sorry to hear of Irving's passing. I remember him bouncing in and out of the Jcc when you and I worked there. I hope your many happy memories of being married to Irving will comfort you at this time. My husband Pat died 2 weeks ago, after a long illness of Alzheimers.
