In Loving Memory of Hildegarde "Hilde" Summa

Hildegarde "Hilde" Summa
Clarks Summit, PA April 24, 1965 ~ September 2, 2016 Date of Service: Privately heldHildegarde "Hilde" Summa, 51, Clarks Summit, passed away suddenly.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Henry and Gerthilda Scheer of Philadelphia, Hilde graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She worked at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technician.
Surviving are two daughters, Ashley Summa, Philadelphia; and Gabriella Summa, Clarks Summit; sisters, Debbie; Elizabeth, Kathy; brothers, Carl, Eric, Heinze; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Summa who passed away in June of 2015. Also, her parents, Henry and Gerthilda Scheer; and sister, Karen Rotondo.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Hilde during her 51 years, among them: Never leave the house without lipstick.
She had a life-long love affair with caesar salad, anchovies, freshly sliced jalapenos, her homemade sauce, and anything spicy hot.
She excelled at growing fresh tomatoes in her garden, gardening, maintaining her house beautifully on the inside and out and running. She loved to create a sense of warmth and peace in her home for her family. It was typical to find her blasting Kenny G and Michael Bolton in the house with the crock pot going. She absolutely adored her husband and girls. And how can we forget her dog, Louis. She lived for them, they were her everything.
She left us with many memories to warm our hearts with love and laughter. She was the neighborhood favorite when Ashley and Gabriella were growing up, always playing games with the children. She liked to think of herself and quoted often, "I'm not just any mom, I'm a cool mom" and that she was. She will be forever missed by all that knew her. Her energy, laughter, and personality will live with us forever. She would want us to remember these happy times.
A private mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A private interment will also follow.
Everyone who was touched by her is asked to celebrate Hilde's life in their own way; raising a glass of Pinot would be quite appropriate.
In lieu of flowers, Hilde would have wanted memorial contributions made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, http://support.pancan.org/goto/summafighters.
