Gertrude “Croce” Miglot Novorosky of Dunmore passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband Michael C. Miglot, her second husband Joseph J. Novorosky, and her beloved Jimmy Sheehan of Dunmore.
Born in Dunmore, PA she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine Vizzini Amico. She was a member of SS Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore and she attended Dunmore Schools.
She was a loving wife and mother, and she also warmed the hearts of so many as she provided them with sweets, smiles, laughter, and great conversation to the many who frequented the Dunmore Candy Kitchen and Curry Donut for many years. It was never a job to Gert, it was a social event and she loved it. If you knew Gert you loved her, she was one of a kind in many ways.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her beautiful grandchildren who filled her heart. We will all miss her so very much.
The family would like to express their thanks to the second floor nurses and ICU staff at Moses Taylor Hospital. The compassion shown to our mother will never be forgotten. Also a very special thank you to our mom’s very good friend, Theresa DeFranscico, for all the love you gave to our mother. God bless all of you.
She is survived by daughters, Michele Dutko, Dunmore and Josette Novorosky, Dunmore, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters, Angela Kollra, Scranton, Patricia Muraca, Dunmore, a brother, Albert Amico, Harrisburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Also she was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Miglot Rodriguez, son-in-law John “Smokey” Dutko, siblings Vincent Amico, Theresa Amico, Anthony Amico, and Pasquale Amico.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 27th, from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.
Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minooka Section of Scranton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
