Francis "Frankie" A. "Boobsie" Budash

Dunmore, PA March 4, 1953 ~ January 12, 2017 Date of Service: January 14, 2017

Francis "Frankie" A. Budash aka Boobsie, 63, of Dunmore, died Thursday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Ruth McDonough Budash. He attended St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School and Dunmore Central Catholic High School. He was previously employed by Thomas A. Durkin and Sons as a truck driver.

He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and was happiest either in a vehicle or under one. Frank drove for anyone at anytime. He knew every road in the Tri-State area and knew someone in every town along the way. He loved going to "the races" with his pals, and worked on the pit crew for Billy Pauch Sr. racing team. His favorite pastimes were taking drives out to Hot Dog Johnny's, enjoying ribs from Kundla's, Lispi's pasta and chicken BBQ. At Christmas, he would make an early morning run into New York, N.Y., for cookies from Ferrara's to thank all the ladies who cooked for him.

Frank could talk his way through anything and out of it, too, living life with a "get out of jail card" in his pocket. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are a sister, Barbara Budash O'Malley, Scranton; brothers, Stephen J. and wife, Joanne, Tampa, Fla.; John T., Carbondale; and Michael W. and wife, Lori, New Hampshire; nieces, Nicole and Kayla; and a nephew, David; and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary "Boo" O'Hara Budash.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue, Scranton. Inurnment, St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call Saturday morning at the church from 9 until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Cody Barrasse Memorial Foundation, c/o Scranton Preparatory School, 1000 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

Dear Barbara and Family,

I"m so sorry to hear about the passing of Frankie. We were such good friends in high school and always gathered at the Dunmore Corners, where we all met, to begin our many adventurous weekends. He was always such fun and a Very caring friend, He will be missed by all and will be remembered in my daily prayers.
