Edward M. Levinson, 64, Throop, died Sunday at Mountain View Care Center after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, and high school sweetheart, the former Kathryn McHale.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Dr. Jerome and Gatell Moskovitz Levinson, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, attended Lackawanna College and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. Ed was a friend to everyone he met. He was a master at TV and movie trivia. He was the ultimate Elvis fan and would leave us singing, “Love Me Tender.”
He is also survived by brothers Nat Levinson, MD and wife Nancy; and Sander Levinson, MD and wife Kimberly; brothers-in-law Joseph and Kevin McHale; and sister-in-law Maureen Meredick; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz. There will be no local shiva.
