Edward Kobesky, 84, of Dunmore, died Monday afternoon in Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lydia Webb Kobesky and was a graduate of West Scranton High School and an Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked for Catholic Social Services as a Corrections Specialist.
He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Boston Red Sox fan. He had a sense of humor and was known to be a jokester. He was a famous patron of Cugino’s Family Restaurant in Dunmore and was known for his kindness, selfless and empathetic nature. Ed was a loving grandfather and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank Allied Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
Surviving are daughters; Lori Dainty, Amy Kobesky and her husband Jamie Bideganeta, all of Scranton. A son; Scott Kobesky, Dunmore. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Best friends; Stan and Sammy.
He was preceded in death by a sister; Betty Warner and a best friend; Wallace W. Svetovich.
A service will be held on Friday at 7:00pm in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
Friends may call from 4pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
