Earl T. McKeon, 80, of Las Vegas, NV and Scranton, died early Wednesday at home.  He is survived by his fiancée, Bernice Margolies Dinner. 


Born in Scranton, son of the late Earl and Amelia Porcaro McKeon, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School Class of 1953 and went on to attend the University of Scranton, Penn State University, and the University of Maryland Correspondence School.  He was also a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command in Morocco, North Africa. 


Earl was a Key Account Representative for Bristol Meyers, Clairol Division, and responsible for retail health and beauty aids in twenty-seven counties in Pennsylvania, as well as three counties in New Jersey.  He won salesman of the year for producing the largest single distribution of Herbal Essence Shampoo. Additionally, he was owner and operator of Novus Windshield Repair and was responsible for establishing Matson & Rosa Electric City Appliance. He was a charter member of the North Scranton Knights of Columbus and lector at the former St. Anthony’s Church on Wood Street in North Scranton, and had been a member of the Scranton Jewish Community Center.

 In addition to Bernice, he is survived by three daughters Sandra Noll, Teri Rizzo and Jacqueline McKeon, all of Scranton; grandchildren T.J. Noll, Kerri Noll Vitaletti and John Rizzo, Jr.; several great-grandchildren; brothers Fred McKeon of Clarks Summit, Robert McKeon of Scranton, and Eugene McKeon of NJ; sisters Mary Ann Malyczak of FL, Patricia Loflin NM, Gloria Pouch of Scranton, Amelia Ropel of WA, and Yvonne Neary of Scranton; nieces and nephews. 

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Ave. and E. Gibson St., in Scranton.  Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.  Family and friends may call in the church Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.


Preferred memorial contributions in Earl’s memory may be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV, 89119.

We were so sorry to hear of Earl's passing. He and Bernice made a great couple. Back in the 70's, Earl
enjoyed getting together with the boys to play cards. He was a joy to know and another one of the Greatest Generation.

Evelyn and I are very sorry to hear that our dear friend Earl has passed on. We will always remember him from our high school days and for all the joy and humor he contributed to our reunions. He was easy and fun to be with. Our deepest sympathy to all of his family.

So sorry to read of Earl's passing. We all have lost a treasure and please know my heart is with you. His beautiful smile reminded me of all of the laugh's and fun we shared over the years.
